Fox Swibel is pleased to announce that Lisa Rispoli and Sophia Popovic have joined the Firm as partners, strengthening its Construction Law and Real Estate practices.

 

Lisa Rispoli

Lisa joins the Firm’s Chambers-ranked Construction Law Group. She brings significant in-house transactional experience advising private and publicly traded companies on complex construction and commercial matters. Her practice focuses on negotiating and administering construction and supply agreements, managing contractual risk, and counseling clients on construction-related disputes and commercial transactions. Prior to joining Fox Swibel, Lisa served as Commercial Counsel with REV Group and previously held legal roles with Johnson Controls and F.H. Paschen, S.N. Nielsen.

Lisa earned her J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School and her bachelor’s degree from St. Xavier University.

Sophia B. Popovic

Sophia joins the Firm’s Real Estate Group, where she counsels clients on the acquisition, disposition, financing, management, operation, development, and leasing of commercial real estate nationwide, with a particular focus on hotel and hospitality matters. Before joining Fox Swibel, Sophia served as an in-house attorney to an international hotel management corporation, advising on hotel management, ownership, development, financing, transitions, conversions, and operations. She previously practiced in the Chicago offices of Latham & Watkins LLP and Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.

“Sophia brings a strong combination of sophisticated transactional experience and an in-house perspective,” said Scott A. Schonfeld, Co-Chair of the Real Estate Group. “She understands both the legal and commercial considerations that drive complex real estate transactions.”

Laurie A. Levin, Co-Chair of the Real Estate Group, added, “Sophia’s depth of experience in the hotel and hospitality sector adds another dimension to our real estate practice and expands the capabilities we can offer our clients.”

Sophia earned her J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law and dual B.A. degrees in Journalism and Political Science, summa cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago.

The addition of Lisa and Sophia further strengthens two of Fox Swibel’s core practices and expands the depth of experience available to clients across complex construction and real estate matters.
