Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility Statement

Fox Swibel has had a longstanding commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility, and remains firmly committed to DEIA as an integral part of our core culture. We are proud our efforts have been rewarded with the coveted Mansfield Certification, which recognizes qualifying law firms for affording fair and equal opportunity in hiring and promoting practices.

Our core asset is our people, and our core goal is to provide the highest quality service to our clients. Our years of expanding opportunities to a more diverse talent pool have undeniably enriched our firm and enhanced service to our clients. Those expanded opportunities ensure that in hiring, promoting and all other aspects of firm culture, we increase the talent pool from which we draw in order to hire the highest quality candidates from all walks of life, and we afford our attorneys and staff the chance to utilize their varied gifts and maximize their potential.

We also take pride in our community outreach and volunteer efforts. In addition to sponsoring numerous organizations and events that promote justice, inclusiveness and integrity, we periodically organize our lawyers and staff to give back to our community. Those efforts include building homes for Habitat for Humanity and taking part in the “Letters to Santa” program and providing gifts to children in Chicago’s Avondale community whose families are experiencing hardship.

Overall, we pledge to continue to convey, in our rhetoric and actions, that DEIA is not only a part of delivering the highest quality service to our clients, but our reaffirmation that DEIA values enrich us all.

Honoring America

At Fox Swibel, we stand and celebrate Independence, Emancipation and Civil Rights, recognizing the importance of the continued struggle to bolster existing liberties and strive for a society where all are included and safe. Even though our foundational truths were expressed many years ago, it has been crucial to reaffirm our commitment to upholding them.  In 1998, Congress passed a simple declaration, designating the days from Flag Day through Independence Day as “Honor America Days”.  In 2021, Juneteenth became a federal holiday, officially marking the annual observance of the enforcement of the emancipation of enslaved peoples at the end of the American Civil War.  As we honor the cornerstones on which our democracy was built, let us remember the patriots who have defended our hard-fought fundamental freedoms, enjoy the privileges our social contract provides, and march forward to protect liberty and justice for all as we commemorate our 250 years of independence.
