Seth R. Berliner

Seth Berliner is an associate in the Firm’s Real Estate Group. Seth represents clients in all stages of the lifecycle of commercial real estate, including acquisition, financing, development, leasing, and disposition, and is expert in title and survey matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Seth was an associate in the real estate practices at WilmerHale in Boston and Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Chicago, and also practiced at a boutique real estate firm in Chicago. Prior to law school, Seth worked in local government and politics in Chicago and New York City. Seth currently sits on the Local School Council of Coonley Elementary in Chicago.

  • Represented a global private equity firm in its $2.2 billion sale of a portfolio of 140+ industrial properties.
  • Represented a development company in its leasing of an 830,000 square foot Boston-area warehouse to Amazon, Inc., and subsequent $355 million sale to a major real estate investment company.
  • Represented development company in $160 million construction financing of southwest Florida condominium development.
  • Represented multinational equity investor in joint venture acquisition and $133 million construction financing of three parcels in downtown Nashville for development of a multi-family asset.
  • Represented leading Chicago REIT in combination loan assumption, receivership termination, and joint venture in connection with $12 million acquisition of an Oregon mobile home park.

Seth received his B.A. in urban studies from Columbia University. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he served as Vice President & Treasurer of the Harvard Law Review and as a student-attorney with the Harvard Defenders.
