Sandy L. Koropp

Sandy Koropp is of counsel in the Firm’s Intellectual Property Group. Sandy’s practice includes guiding clients in developing, maintaining, and defending their intellectual property, assessing ongoing risks, and broadening their brand impact through licensing and other partnership agreements.  Sandy also assists clients in maintaining, and protecting their intellectual property portfolios, screening trademarks, managing applications, and maintaining trademarks, service marks, trade secrets and copyrights before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the United States Copyright Office.

Sandy also ensures clients’ advertising and marketing materials are in legal compliance, asserts and defends clients’ rights in both registered and common law trademarks and service marks through negotiations, cease and desist letters, and legal proceedings. Additionally, Sandy has drafted and negotiated a wide variety of license agreements with professional artists, athletes and sports organizations.

Previously Sandy worked at a major international law firm and as in-house counsel at McDonald’s Corporation.

Sandy received her B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Illinois where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and was a Bronze Tablet recipient. She received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif.
