Leslie Schafer de Ochoa
Leslie Schafer de Ochoa is a partner in the Firm’s Banking & Corporate Finance Group. Leslie has over twenty years of legal experience, practicing at a large global law firm for a decade before expanding her skillsets through senior internal legal roles at two public financial institutions.
Before joining Fox Swibel, Leslie was a trusted legal advisor at GE Capital, followed by an expanded banking and regulatory senior legal role at Northern Trust, where she was promoted to Assistant General Counsel. She was foundationally trained as a banking and finance attorney at the global law firm of Jones Day. Her clients have included large, global public enterprises across various industries, financial institutions, private equity funds, middle market and privately held companies. During her career, Leslie has guided clients through corporate transformational transactions and strategic relationships, advised on the adoption of various financial product and service offerings, and set up compliance programs for evolving regulatory requirements.
Leslie has been recognized as a thought leader, speaking in the fields of Finance Law, Privacy & Cybersecurity. She has also earned awards and recognition from the institutions where she has served as internal counsel, including a 2021 Northern Trust Chairman’s Award for work on the Paycheck Protection Program, as well as GE Capital awards in 2013 (Legal Team Efficiency Ambassador) and 2012 (Creating a Culture that Inspires).
