Carlos A. Vazquez
Carlos Vazquez is a partner is the Firm’s Real Estate Group. Carlos has extensive experience representing clients in a broad range of real estate, finance, and corporate transactions. He has represented real estate developers, large public financial institutions, restaurant groups, and small and large private companies in a wide range of matters.
Carlos previously managed his own law firm for 13 years where he acted as outside general counsel to marketing agencies, music venues, technology startups, and renewable energy manufacturers. Carlos advised on commercial real estate transactions, debt financing and SBA lending, distressed debt, forbearance agreements, discounted payoff agreements, note purchases, short sales, R.E.O purchases, mergers & acquisitions, stock and asset purchases and sales, IP licensing, partnerships and operating agreements, corporate sponsorship, and administrative hearings.
Immediately prior to joining the Firm, Carlos owned a real estate development firm where he handled all aspects of development, including acquisition strategies, finance, investor relations, design and permitting, construction and project management, leasing and property management, and dispositions of new construction projects and rehabs of residential, mixed use and commercial projects in the Chicago area.
Carlos began his legal career at Mayer Brown in its Banking & Finance Group, where he worked on international securitizations and international debt reorganizations.
Before attending Stanford Law School, Carlos worked in management consulting in Chicago preparing complex financial analyses for expert witness damage reports in large commercial litigation. Carlos also worked at the Palace of Westminster in London as a research assistant to a Lord in the UK Parliament.
