Neville Reid Elected President of the Illinois Medical District Board of Commissioners

The Illinois Medical District (IMD) Board of Commissioners has elected Commissioner Neville Reid to serve as President for the term 2018-2019. The IMD oversees economic development for the nearly 600-acre health innovation district on the near west side of Chicago that includes Rush University Medical Center, the John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County, the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center and the UIC West campus. The IMD places particular emphasis on attracting innovative healthcare and technology-related companies and fostering economic growth and development of the District and the surrounding west side communities. Neville has been an IMD Commissioner since May 2017 and as President, will work closely with the IMD staff and the other Commissioners in overseeing the implementation of the IMD’s strategic plan.

Neville has practiced law for over 30 years and is a partner with the law firm of Fox Swibel Levin & Carroll LLP, where he specializes in restructurings and distressed asset transactions. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University in 1984 and received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1987. Neville’s election as President adds to his growing list of achievements, including being rated AV® Preeminent by his professional peers through the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating system and co-recipient of the Harvard Law Society of Illinois’ Role Model Award in 2017.
