Yuri Shidenko is a partner in the Firm’s Banking & Financial Institutions Group. His practice focuses on representing national and regional banks, other financial institutions and borrowers in a broad range of financing transactions. Yuri has successfully structured, negotiated and closed over one hundred loans secured by real estate (both traditional and securitized), commercial lines of credit, construction and build-to-suit financings, loan restructurings and industrial revenue bond structures. He also advises banking clients on all aspects of loan workouts, distressed loan sales and deed-in-lieu of foreclosure transactions.
Yuri has significant experience in acquisitions and dispositions of commercial real estate, development projects and leasing matters. His recent transactions in this area include representation of a real estate investor in a $52.5 million sale of one of San Diego, California’s most-historic office buildings and a $22 million acquisition of a shopping center in Scottsdale, Arizona.
In addition, Yuri has worked on numerous venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border joint ventures, distribution agreements, as well as advised clients on various legal aspects of international trade.
Yuri received his LL.M., with high honors, from Northwestern University School of Law. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif. Prior to joining Fox Swibel, he was an associate at Altheimer & Gray. Yuri is also fluent in Ukrainian and Russian.
