Stephanie Shellenback is a partner in the Firm’s Real Estate Group. Stephanie primarily focuses on dispositions and acquisitions, as well as leasing and financing. She has closed numerous transactions in locations throughout the US, ranging from office properties and shopping centers to vacant land for development. In her leasing practice, Stephanie represents a private REIT in the leasing of a 3 million square foot office portfolio and a private investment fund in the leasing of a 400,000 square foot downtown Chicago office building. In addition to serving a client base comprised of institutional investors, she has brought her understanding of real estate to corporate merger transactions and has also counseled not-for-profit corporations in connection with their real estate investments and holdings.
Stephanie is a current member and former board member of CREW Chicago. She is also a member of the Real Estate Advisory Committee for Deborah’s Place – Chicago’s largest provider of supportive housing for single women experiencing homelessness.
Stephanie has served as a speaker and panelist with programs sponsored by the Practising Law Institute (2010 and 2013) and Law Seminars International (2006 and 2007).
Stephanie received her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She received her J.D. from Emory University School of Law, where she was the Notes and Comments Editor of the Emory Law Journal. Prior to joining Fox Swibel, Stephanie was a partner at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP (formerly Gardner Carton & Douglas) and Quarles & Brady LLP (formerly Wilson & McIlvaine).

Since 2005, Stephanie has been selected to the list of Illinois Super Lawyers. Her selection was published in Chicago Magazine. Super Lawyers selects attorneys using a patented multiphase selection process. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with third party research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Only five percent of lawyers in Illinois are selected for inclusion to the Illinois Super Lawyers list, and are made on an annual, state-by-state basis.
